Ways to Support

Because Every Older Adult
Deserves a Place to Belong

Across Western North Carolina, older adults are living longer than ever before. Yet too many face challenges that can make aging difficult—food insecurity, isolation, declining health, transportation barriers, and the demands of caregiving.

At Mountain Aging Partners, we believe no one should navigate those challenges alone.

Every day, we help older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected through Meals on Wheels, Community Dining, Adult Day services, caregiver support, transportation assistance, volunteer engagement, and programs that foster purpose, dignity, and belonging.

For the older adults and families we serve, MAP is more than a service provider. It is a community.

Your generosity makes that community possible.

Whether you make a gift today, volunteer your time, become a monthly donor, or leave a legacy for future generations, you help ensure that older adults throughout Western North Carolina have the support they need to age with dignity and grace.

Together, we're building a future where every older adult has a place to belong.

Your Impact

Every gift helps older adults and caregivers navigate the realities of
aging with greater confidence, connection,
and peace of mind.

Your support helps:

  • Deliver nutritious meals to homebound older adults.
  • Reduce loneliness and isolation through Community Dining and social engagement.
  • Provide meaningful activities, care, and companionship through Adult Day services.
  • Support family caregivers with respite, resources, and guidance.
  • Connect older adults to services that help them remain safely and independently at home.

When you support Mountain Aging Partners, you're investing in healthier lives, stronger families, and a more compassionate community for all our aging neighbors in Henderson and Buncombe Counties.

Become a Monthly Giving Partner

Aging doesn't happen one day at a time - and neither does our work.

Monthly Giving Partners provide dependable support that allows Mountain Aging Partners to respond when an older adult's circumstances suddenly change, when a homebound neighbor needs nutritious meals, or when a caregiver needs support.

Your recurring gift creates stability for the older adults and families who rely on us throughout the year.

Even a modest monthly contribution can help ensure that someone has a meal to look forward to, a place to gather with friends, a caring hand to guide them, or a community that welcomes them.

Honor or Remember Someone Special

Celebrate a loved one, honor a caregiver, recognize a friend,
or memorialize someone whose life made a difference.

A tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor the people who have shaped your life while helping older adults throughout Western North Carolina thrive.

Upon request, Mountain Aging Partners will notify the honoree or family that a gift has been made in their name.

A tribute gift creates a lasting expression of compassion, dignity, and care.

Volunteer Your Time

Some of the most meaningful gifts cannot be measured in dollars.

Every year, hundreds of volunteers help make Mountain Aging Partners' mission possible. They deliver Meals on Wheels routes, welcome Community Dining participants, support Adult Day activities, assist caregivers, work in our thrift store, serve on committees, and provide countless acts of kindness that strengthen our community.

Volunteers remind older adults that they are seen, valued, and connected.

Your time and talent can make an extraordinary difference.

  • Stocks, mutual funds, and other appreciated securities may allow you to make a larger charitable gift while potentially reducing capital gains taxes.

  • Donations of goods, supplies, equipment, and professional services help strengthen our programs while reducing operating costs.
  • Many employers will match charitable contributions, doubling or even tripling the impact of your generosity.
  • An unused vehicle can become meaningful support for programs that help older adults remain independent.

The Tom and Melinda Raab Legacy Society

Some gifts change lives today. Others help shape the future.

The Tom and Melinda Raab Legacy Society honors individuals who have included Mountain Aging Partners in their estate plans or made other planned gifts to ensure that future generations of older adults and caregivers receive the same compassion, support, and sense of belonging that define our mission.

The Society is named in honor of Tom Raab, a longtime Adult Day participant, and his wife, Melinda, whose experience reflects the profound impact of community-centered care.

For more than seven years, MAP staff and participants embraced Tom as a valued member of their community, celebrating his abilities, encouraging his independence, and surrounding him with friendship, laughter, and love. As his needs changed, the support never wavered.

Years later, Melinda continues to serve as a volunteer, donor, advocate, and Board Chair because she believes every family deserves the same support that she and Tom experienced.

Today, members of the Tom and Melinda Raab Legacy Society carry that belief forward.

A Legacy of Belonging

"One day I told Tom that the staff loved him. He barely was able to whisper, but he replied,
'I know they do.' In that moment, I felt gratitude beyond measure."

- Melinda Raab

  • A bequest in your will or trust
